Americans: What is this "American Culture" that you speak of?

When I first visited the US, I was surprised at how people separated themselves by race. I was astonished at how White Americans and Black Americans would eat different foods, listen to different music and have different morals. There is no one "American Culture", there's just the "White culture" and the "Black culture" and then comes foreigners.

In my country; all the biracials (who make up the majority), all of the blacks and all of the whites speak the same dialect of spanish, listen to the same music, eat the same food and have the same morals. Somehow, the Spanish colonial system allowed us to unite as one culture, unlike the Americans who had Jim Crow and separated into cultures based on race. Never in my country does it become a big deal when a mulatto dates a black person, a white person dates a black person or a mulatto dates a white person but this definitely isn't the case in the US.

Why do you think your culture is so great? It seems that people in the US would rather say "I'm white" or "I'm black" rather than "I'm American." You guys have no unity, it's the truth.

I'm American >.>

I'm also Italian <.<

I also enjoy a good beer and being with friends shooting the sh!t with people I care about and who care about me.

American culture, or at least southern culture, is being respectful but proud of your own accomplishments. Not being arrogant or egotistical. Which, honestly, is more than I can say for France, the UK, and Italy.

(I'm Italian, but I must admit that Italians are stuck up >.>)

You think we got no unity Pablo? Attack the US and see. It is kind of like family, I can call my sister anything I want and it is ok. You fck with my sister and I will stomp a mudhole in your foreign @ss. Remember 9/11? May not have got the right ones, but somebody got their @ss whipped and it aint happened since.
