Well, turned on my tv and as of this afternoon the West versions of the american networks are now showing even though i did not order those for the extra $1. Did bell abolish the $1 extra and decide to give these free?

Also.. i added HDTV last week. Could that be why? ( mind you these channels didnt appear until this afternoon and i've has HDTV working for a week now..

Update: I called bell and asked wats going on
The CSE confirmed that i should not be receiving the western feeds on my SD reciever as i dont pay for it. Funny thing is its only on 1 SD ird and my HD 6100.

Anyone else getting this " Glitch"?

The best part was when the CSR told me " it could be something to do with the cable coming from the switch into the IRD!!!

They shure know how to problem solve at bell lol:o

Their CSR's are always good for a laugh. It's amazing how little they know. The training program must be horrible.

The west coast American channels are now part of the Digital Standards package. They used to charge a dollar extra for that. Last year, the west coast channels were included when you subscribed to the HD add-on package for 10 dollars but that is no longer the case. I learned all this when I called up to find out why I didn't have A&E HD when the programming brochure said it was part of the HD package. The CSR said I was grandfathered on the older package and for an extra dollar, I could be upgraded to the new tiers. I didn't do it because I want to wait and see where the other preview HD channels will end up.

Check the Bell programming brochure here and you will see the little timeshift icon beside each of the American networks in the Digital Standards section.

ok after doing a full reset on all IRD's.. 3 out of 4 of my 4100's are showing the western feeds free. 1 of them for some reason doesnt get em. O well! Cant complain :D

Ah, the fine print. Guess I missed that.

That was probably what the CSR was talking about for the extra dollar. But he was saying I needed to pay that in order to get A&E HD. Seems odd that I would have to get the west coast US network feed for an extra dollar in order to get me the extra HD channel.

Meh. The same could be said for virtually any consumer tech support line. they're making minimum wage and are probably are trained in an hour.

Some answers to your questions...

Yes there is still a 1$ for the extra feed as the brochure mentions...

As far as training goes I think trainers try their best, but it still should be longer. You learn the theory, but only whit practice, and hearing the same problem over and over you get to feel more confident on a call.

Salary wise a CSR at Nordia vendor get 11.50$/an hour, Teleperformance who does billing issues and moves only get 10.50$/an hour, NCO get 10$ an hour and a Bell CSR get 13.75$. Those are the beggening rate... Each vendor does have an internal bonus plans were they could earn up to 5$ more an hour. We also have a Bell monthly bonus plan... Bell CSR do have an extra 35% on all Bell products.
