American modern culture/things we do differently.?

I am writing a satirical essay on americas culture and weird things we do different than other countries. i.e. we care more about people who aren't important than the news(John and Kate, Paris Hilton, etc) and stuff about fast food.
any other ideas?[that i can make fun of/write essay about]
 
Meh...other countries are just as obsessed with frivolous junk as well. There's a "paris hilton" type in every country.

How about the opposite conflict? America's addiction to shitty food, vs. the over-anxiousness for the perfect body? Fat people vs. the people who exercise too much or the ones that don't eat because they feel they're too fat?
