I've only just got round to watching the sequel to that glorious movie American Grafitti.
That had a feelgood factor and lots of excellent music and was set as the USA ended its era of innocence but the
sequel- More American Graffitti is set between 2 and 5 years later - has no feelgood factor until the end - the music is mostly forgettable and the entire film is made with the constant use of distracting split screens.
I can see now why the film was not even mentioned in the Making Of documentary included with the original on dvd which surprised me as all the original cast except Richard Dreyfuss returned
It looked a good idea to catch up on these characters but the end result was a bit depressing except for the outcome of Terry FielRAB (Charles Martin Smith) who was said to be MIA in Vietnam at the end of the original.
I cant be the only one disappointed with the sequel being so different to the original
