American Dad, The Simpsons, and South Park have one thing in common...

They all had episodes that spoofed World of Warcraft.

I do not think that Family Guy spoofed it, or King of the Hill, but I could be wrong.

Which episode do you think was the best? My vote would go to the South Park one.

I agree with that arrangement 100%. I think South Park was more funny since it actually used WoW game engine, and got permission from the people over at Blizzard to use it, that and I have friends who played WoW and said that they liked the episode, there only complaint was the exclusion of the Horde. American Dad I just liked how they had a different animation style to differentiate from the actual animation of the show. Simpsons felt bland because it didn't even change the mood of the episode like South Park and American Dad did.

The only thing KOTH did was Hank being sucked into a MMO that was more like GTA clone that involved Propane created by 2 people.

Family Guy hasn't really had anything related to a Warcraft spoof since I really don't think that the team either hasn't played any recent video games or would rather not refer to them since there hasn't even been any GTA or Halo or anything recently popular video game wise on FG. I think King of the Hill did an episode where Hank enjoyed a GTAesque game but they didn't do a Warcraft spoof. As for the shows that did...

You can tell by the animation themselves which was the best.

The Simpsons had plain animation that was just exactly like the rest of they're show.
American Dad actually gave it a more realistic and sort of animeish look while still keeping with the two-d aniamtion graphics.
South Park actually botehred getting the Blizzard staff themselves to do animation work for the show making it look like something in the game.

So yeah I'd say South Park which also not only had better animation but actually botehred staying more on point about playing the game and didn't have one of those lame sitcomy cliche morals attached to it like AD and Simps did.

That episode was pretty accurate about these games, too. Unlike The Simpsons and American Dad ones which were not really specific in their humor.

South Park was the best of the three. I love when the executives are freaking out over the cheater and one of them says (paraphrased), "Gentlemen, we're dealing with someone who can't be killed because... he has no life." :D

That, and I think it was the most effective about showing the unhealthy obsession with some of these MMORPGs, but still being funny while doing it (like crapping into a pan instead of getting up and going to the bathroom). The ending was classic, too.

The Simpson episode was a classic case of "epic fail" on the show's part. There was no attempt whatsoever to make the video game universe look like anything other than the standard Simpson universe, as if the writer/directors of the show are deathly afraid of doing something outside of the visual look of the series. So all we got were the residents of Springfield walking around as knights, elves, creatures and whatnot. What was great about American Dad and South Park was how the various characters adopted personas that were nothing like them in real life and that was a big part of the joke. Every Simpsons character looked and acted like they did in real life. Burns was Burns. Moe was Moe. And on and on.

And I find it hard to swallow that every single person in town - even those who would obviously have no interest in playing a computer game - was seated at their computers playing the same game at the same time.

Again, epic fail.
