American Dad - "Moon Over Isla Island" - Talkback [10/4]

Me too, I've rewatched the episode and I'm still puzzled about it.

It was predictable how the dictator was going to die. Corndog. Elevator. Dead. I thought he was going die in helicopter shown in the commercials. I found it amusing how roger's critscisms was getting people offed, and Stan moving the signing to tonight. The ending of the episode with the 'Dancer' becoming the most brutal dictator on Isla gave me chuckle.:anime:

The Steve/Snot subplot didn't do much for me...

Stan and Roger... was intriguing, though not much funny from a comedy standpoint. Though I do like the oddness of Roger asking for the entire land to be painted yellow and the innertube ride from the front door right to Roger's sleeping quarters. But Roger was gonna find out the ruse eventually, and yet, it's his actions that nearly get him killed. I would like to say both Stan and Roger have learned a lesson from this... but I doubt it would stick.

Meanwhile, in a second instance of "they're only doing this now" on Animation Domination... one of Steve's friends, in this case, Snot, getting accidental boobage from Francine? So it ends up turning into a one-up contest on each other's moms. Obviously, such a contest is a clear indication of ending in a very un-PC moment... though this time around, it was different kind of un-PC. I also didn't realize what was happening until Snot kinda hinted it at Steve. (For some odd reason, I thought his plan was to brush 'the stuff' against Francine as she came in.)

About on par with last week's episode, but that's enough to edge Family Guy for best show of the night this week. But it was an average week across the board, so it's nothing to write home about.

American Dad - "Moon Over Isla Island" - Talkback [10/4]

Kind of sad that this is the last project Ricardo Montalb?n was attached to. His appearence in Family Guy was funnier then this... what like two line appearence as the ruler of Isla Island? Besides this is just another one of those plots where Stan has to learn not to take Roger for granted since it was implied in this episode (and not really in other episodes) he's done that a lot and it's wrong and he has to give up the one thing he wanted most to prove that he cares about Roger again and blah blah. Seriously the entire plot of this episode is lame. Like I said last week I am annoyed by AD's lesson structure out of all the Animation Domination shows. Then again at least a Steve-Roger episode is more rare then a Steve-Stan episode, and I did like Roger's demands as emperor including getting everyone to dance, painting over families, and the canal to his palace. And him offing people without even realizing it I guess was kind of funny. Still when you can see the ending (the actual important ending coming) like from 5 miles away then what's really the point of the ep? And also unlike last time the subplot wasn't too good either. I mean I do like Steve and Snot wanting to get back at each other with accidental Mom gropage but it didn't really have a satisfying conlcusion. Just felt rushed in a bad way. Oh well it still adds up to a better episode then last week since they didn't try using as many lame metaphors or something but still American Dad is the weakest show in Animation Domination. Behind the still trying to find it's mark cleveland show and the trade off between Simpsons and Family Guy.
