A new episode airs tonight at 9:30 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:

:sigh: It's as if at the beginning of every writing session for new episodes, someone starts things off with 'Well, how can we write Haley off in the first act this week?'

I know Seth finds it difficult to find plots for teenage girls, but I think they're tapping the 'Steve & his friends' plotlines dry.

A Heath Ledger death joke!? Really. I know they tried to cover themselves by Stan saying that that reference was too soon right after he made it, but if the writers really felt it was too soon, why even do it at at all? By the way, that makes the second Heath Ledger reference on Fox Animation Domination tonight. On the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XX, Kearney was dressed as Heath Ledger's Joker.

Kinda predictable in the sense of Stan constantly trying to bring Roger back so he wouldn't have to talk to Francine, though I did like the self-referential lines about how Francine just had her period and the cable's out. The highlight was Stan walking through Roger's surreal mind.

Favorite line off the top of my head, paraphrased from memory: "I hated that apartment. I don't know if you noticed, but it didn't have a bathroom. I won't be getting my deposit back." :D

(BTW: Anybody notice that the music for this one wasn't by Ron Jones or Walter Murphy, but instead Joel McNeely? He's composed for Tiny Toons a few times)

An alright episode, but not quite in league with the past two solid outings. The main Stan/Francine plot worked in some way, but I don't think it was well-developed enough to reach a better-than-usual denouement. Also for that matter, if Stan, Francine, and Roger are in those mind machines... Who's going to get them out. This isn't like the Vacation Goo situation.

That said, loved the rather dark ending to Steve's subplot, Klaus and vodka, and Bullock's rather bitter disposition towards an indifferent cat.

Admittedly, I don't usually pay much attention to the opening credits outside of who wrote/directed the episode, so it was news to me (plus, it wasn't listed on imdb, although I realize they're not 100% accurate- just sayin'). Which specific episode did he start on? I still vaguely remember seeing Jones/Murphy listed during season 4.

This episode was just eh. Rodger is usually pretty funny, but here he was just dull. Nice to see Stan and Francine getting some development, but Steve's subplot nearly put me to sleep.

Roger Scores another funny episode and I love when Stan uses weird CIA equipment and Roger's subconscious was so funny. Although
Steve sub-plots really need to step down for awhile we get it there revenge of the nerds if they had a series How about another Hayley plot not cheap imitation meg fodder.

I know it's just one episode, but did the American Dad and Family Guy writers switch shows again? I think the last time an AD episode was this unfunny was back in the first season. The only time I laughed at all this week was practically at the end, with Stan as the 'prince' and Roger as the 'princess' and, as Stan goes in, Roger kisses back... with visible tongue!

But, really Stan, you were so afraid of Francine finding out you would be so boring that she'd leave you that you were pretty dull this week yourself. And so, you went through all that trouble to keep Roger around so you wouldn't be alone with Francine that... you poison Roger into a coma. Great job, man.

Now, because of baseball pre-emptions, this episode has to sit in my mind for three weeks. I guess I've gotta go find a way to force it out...
