American Dad - "100 A.D." - Talkback [10/3]

A very loose two-parter. According to the press release: "After Stan creates a clone of Steve, Francine and Stan compete with each other to determine who has better parenting skills. Meanwhile, Roger tracks down the AWOL bride and groom in Thailand."

So a regular episode with the subplot continuing last week's storyline.
 
I thought it was a two-parter, as well, but...? I guess we'll see.

As for the episode, well I laughed madly when that bus got destroyed and caused 96 deaths like that. :p

I do have to admit that Francine was a bit out of control in this one, though. I don't think there was a single line from her that sounded friendly until the end. This was basically American Dad's "And Then there Were Fewer", but with more deaths than we all could handle and far lessserious.

As for writing Haley off? I admit, that's a pretty sweet way (even if Jeff stole the money to do it) to write someone off. This makes me wonder why most of American Dad's writers can't move to Family Guy (sure, it's recovering, but still).
 
100 deaths for the 100th episode? Hmmm... wonder how they're gonna pull that off. A bus with 96 people on it backing off a cliff? Well, that'll help.

So all of Hayley's boyfriends/one-timers come back into the fray, with Jeff at the forefront, and Reginald and Bullock in a fight-to-the-death. And wow... all the people trying to stop the wedding just for the money.

Also, yeah to 'Legs and the Wheelman' being back! And how about the ending? All about the money, huh, Jeff and Hayley?

The only part I didn't get was the 'Scooby-Doo character sketch.' I understand Jeff=Shaggy, but Hayley=Velma?

Just enough funny tonight to be the best of the bunch this week.
 
Great season premiere for American Dad. It was funny to see that Haley and Jeff were in on the plan together to steal $50,000. My favorite part was Roger going crazy and thinking Klaus was Garfield.
 
Did someone with the show say Hayley is being written out or are people just making an assumption?

When the series started out it was easy to think that Jeff wasn’t good enough for Hayley. He was as big of a loser as they could make out, while Hayley was living it up with indoor plumbing and had a father looking out for her best interests.
But over the years Jeff has become a more sympathetic figure, sort of a brainless innocent. Hayley on the other hand has been skanking it up with the likes of Stans’ boss.

She’s a bad influence on him. He just wanted to go to Mexico and make a pornographic cartoon about crickets that wont eat their vegetables, but she’s turned him into a liar and a cheat. And Hayley doesn’t know the meaning of the word fidelity, but given the state of her education, that might not be her fault.

And do you think the Jeff really has a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car, or was that another hallucination? This time probably weed induced.

Stans satanic friend was too freaked-up to be left running around, alive.

Loved it that Reginald won the fight by saying he was going to tell Bullocks mother the nasty things he said. I’m getting to like him more and more.
 
Is it me or did Francine seem more dense in last night's premiere?
Anyway, I wondered how they were going to have 100 people die in the episode. A bus filled with at least 90-something one-shot characters will do the trick.
I recognized some of the one-shots on the bus.
The Guard Knight from Of Ice and Men.
Tanquray from last season's G-String Circus.
That race guy from Dungeons and wagons.
The two hobos from Threat levels.
And the last guy I could remember was Bobby the bullet from Stannie get your gun.
Seeing him kill Stan's satanic friend was one of the funniest deaths.

The race to Chimdale was funny and seeing the Principal laughing maniacally while trying to beat everyone made me laugh. Reginald fighting Avery was great. I almost thought he'd be the 100th death. Glad I was wrong.
I'm glad that Hayley and Jeff are hitched, but will it last and will Hayley be around for more adventures?:confused:
 
I like the concept of this episode. Has it really been 100 episodes? Nice gimmick of the hundred deaths, although I forgot who most of those guys in the bus were.

I was expecting Jeff to be the 100th death too, but part of me thought it might be Principal Lewis as well. He was acting crazy, but even more important, he was getting a lot of screen time.

Weird that in an episode with a lot of people, the Memaris were only there briefly, and I didn't see Turlington, either. Loved the Reginald/Bullock battle, though.

I did like Legs and Wheels returning. Why does Garfield hate Mondays if he doesn't work?
