Ive not seen it, it's on th imdb top 250 films. I think i'll rent it before I buy it.

Although I know it was nominated for an Academy Award and the film won a total of five, it did not appeal to me at all.

I absolutely hate the movie.Kevin Spacey was outstanding,but the film was superficial crap.
It ranks up there with The English Patient as the most tedious film to ever be slurped up by the Oscar brigade.

Grossly overrated.
For this to win the Oscars it did shows the standard of film that year and hype these days.

Or that enjoyment of movies is subjective and you just didn't "get" this one. It happens. I'm sure there are plenty of films that you love that others find awful.

Yes, it's taking the piss out of Americans and how they are obsessed with image and have no depth. It's all about the surface. Scratch off some and you'll find more surface. Someone above said the film was superficial. EXACTLY. I don't think you got it to be honest. watch it again and really pay attention this time.
