America has a one party system seperated by the issue of abortion. Discuss?

America has a moderate one party political system whose goal is to be elected not to make a political difference while a two party system comprised of many factions within the masses is divided by social and economic issues like gay rights, abortion, health care, social security, and taxes.

I am divided. I am a Conservative but and am pro choice to an extent. What gets me is that I really don't know what at point it is a living organism. Having an abortion is a terrible thing to begin with I must say it is best to try and make sure it never comes to this. But when it is over 3-4 months I begin to think maybe it is a living thing and do not support it at that point in the pregnancy give it up for adoption or something. My biggest question for myself and everyone else is at what point is it a living thing.

I am from CA so we had Scott Peterson who killed his wife an unborn baby. They tried to give him double murder. This is what I really have the question about and feel society needs to define. AT WHAT POINT IS THE FETUS A LIVING ORGANISM? We can't have it both ways. Is it ok to give abortion later on then say a guy try to convict a man for double murder of an unborn baby. I am not in his defense but we really need to define life at a minimum in the womb so we do not come into these contradictions. I am in between so I don't take a hard core stance but it would be nice to meet somewhere in the middle.
