Amazon the Cheapest Route to Go for 8900

A friend of mine wants an 8900 on T-Mobile. She is starting a new line of service. Has anyone had experience getting a BB through Amazon?
 
My first bb I purchased off amazon. Had no problems. Just don't change your plan in the first 200 something days.
