Amazing scenes that sent chills down your spine

Smokin Aces

[sp]At the end when Ryan Reynolds character walks into the hospital and pulls the plug on the father and son! Brrr awesome music is on aswell [/sp]

any scene in The Deer Hunter when they're in Vietnam. That movie was painful to watch, it was heartbreaking.

The movie SUCKS, but this scene, is such a shocking scene and so unexpected and trust me, you never see this one coming..

Here's the link if you want to take a peek, It's Pretty graphic and sad though.

I agree with whoever said the bus scene from Almost Famous when Tiny Dancer is playing. One of my top scenes of all time.

I love the scene in Shawshank Redemption when he first escapes and is standing in the rain.

The Shining

When Danny is riding his tricycle through the deserted hotel and turns around one of the hall corners and sees the creepy looking twin girls standing there...

"Come play with us, Danny"

basically the whole movie of Passion of the Christ

Phantom of the Opera when the overture plays with the like going back in time to the heyday of the Opera Populaire.

Psycho the shower scene

Rear Window like all of the suspenseful parts near the end of the film

West Side Story the end of the film with Maria's monologue

Jaws the USS Indianapolis monologue

and there's many more. this is just what pops into my head at the moment.

Great ones, guys!

I can't believe I didn't mention City of God, Knowing, Moulin Rouge or The Godfather before! Needless to say, I couldn't agree more. Knowing gave me chills more than once.

I have a new one, from Bright Star. Fanny's "Mama! I can't breathe! Mama!" scene. :bawl: I bawled like crazy.

From LOTR, I always get chills when Pippin sings the song that goes, "Home is behind, the world ahead..." while the screen shows Faramir charging and fighting against orcs. That whole sequence gets to me so bad.

In The Happening when:

[sp]
1) John Leguizamo is in a jeep with 3 other people and they pass through a town where some people have mysteriously hung themselves from a tree. Creepy. Next, John sees a tear in the roof of the jeep causing them all to
inhale the mysterious toxin. Suddenly, the jeep slows down and suddenly speeds up ramming into a tree. Then John Leguizamo walks out of the jeep nonchalantly and sits in the middle of the street and slits his wrists. Freakin' twisted.

2) Mark Wahlberg watches from a distance while a group of people are trying to escape the mysterious toxin. Then they get infected, start walking backwards, and one of them turns on a tractor and lays down so that it can run him over. Oh my gosh.

3) The old lady walking backwards and suddenly starts bashing her head through the windows of her home so that the wind can come in and infect Mark Wahlberg. Scary as hell.[/sp]

 Welcome, Kara!

I agree about that moment in ET. I can't believe I forgot ET.

Guys, wow, some good moments! I agree with everyone. That scene in Crash is my favorite of the movie.

I have never seen The Rules of Attraction but that moment sounds chilling. I've heard it mentioned a couple of time, I have to watch that movie.

Pippin and Gandalf going to Minas Tirith is so wonderful. The music, the scenery, the anticipation, everything!

Also in LOTR, when Frodo is dying and Arwen takes him, that whole chase scene with the Nazgul always gets me!

In Fellowship too, when Legolas stands up for Aragon, "He is no mere ranger, he is Aragorn, son of Arathorn, you owe him your allegiance." I always rewind that part and squee.

hi i'm new, my name's Kara...

i'm a huge movie buff... my imdb username's even movie_buffY ;)

love this thread... mine would be:
silence of the lambs - "hello, clarice"
blair witch project - end scene with the witch on the corner (damn! *shudders*)
a few good men - "you can't handle the truth!"
lake house - kissing scene
e.t. - "i'll be right here" moment
opening scene of rent
spider-man's opening sequence
superman returns' opening sequence

so many more, but those are the ones that popped in my head :)

"The Godfather"

When Michael comes out of the restroom but doesn't shoot Sollozzo and McCluskey right away like he was told to, you think he's decided not to go through with it. When he does shoot them after sitting back down at the table and waiting a bit, it's a surprise.

And of course, Sonny's assassination is shocking.

In The Departed, when [sp]Billy Costigan is shot.[/sp] That will always give me the chills. I was not unexpecting that at all.

Inglorious Basterds - ACT 1 - This scene is where I realize that I am going to be for a great movie ride

City of God - The ending where we realize that it is
[sp]A TRUE STORY WOW!!! And also when the guy shot the little kid on his toe/feet. The kid's reaction is too real. I wonder how they shot that and how the director got that reaction from the boy.[/sp]

Pan's Labyrinth - Ofelia during the banquet scene and the ending
[sp]During that scene where Ofelia disobeyed the Pan and ate and because of that the Pale Man pursued her. Great great scene![/sp]

Chungking Express - Where Tony Leung's character realized it was Faye all along :') (I will forever love this film!)

Lord of the Rings: Two Towers - The lighting of beacons of Gondor

Inception - *THAT* Joseph Gordon Levitt/Arthur scene and I am sure those who watched Inception know what I am talking about :p :)

Godfather 2 - "I know it was you Fredo. You broke my heart."

The Shawshank Redemption when Books Hatlin (the giy with the bird) hangs himself - then when they put Morgan Freemans character in the same apartment and the camera pans up to the beam where he tied the rope.

So depressing and mildy frghtening becasue theres a moment of compleat hopelessness

"As God is my witness...." scene in Gone with the wind (not to be cliche or anything :P)

The ending in Lost and Delirious when Paulie was on the roof. Also when her and Mouse were just screaming in the forest, letting out all their emotions and frustrations.

Almost Famous - 'Tiny Dancer' bus scene. My favorite movie moment, ever. So touching, so lovely .

Also the ending of Love me if you dare, when the camera starts to pan back from the two lovers as they kiss...and you realise they're [sp]committing suicide together.[/sp]

Crash Wen Matt Dillons character is savin that chick from the burnin car!! WOW that was movin!! :sigh:

lotr-In Return of the King when Gandalf and Pippin go to Minas Tirith. The music is amazing, the whole scene is just beautiful.

The hallway scene with the twins in The Shining where the boy flashes on their murder literally gives me the shivers. I shiver in anticipation when I see it's on TV for that scene.

"Hello Danny. Come and play with us." Dude, shaking right now.

Also, same movie but when she reads "All work and no play makes Jack and dull boy" over and over I get the goose bump/chill thing going on.

The Shining is just chill inducing period.

When Angelina Jolie screams in A Mighty Heart after finding out Danny has been killed, ohmygod, the hair stands up on your arms. That is a chilling moment. You want to look away the moment is so intense.
