Amazing restaurant service?

When I first started my job as a waitress I was uncomfortable talking to people. Lately I've learned to loosen up. Actually, I flirt with everyone, but not in a sexual way, and as I've done so I've noticed my tips getting higher and higher. Still, I have some trouble with stuff to talk about with customers. Suggestions?

Also, I'd like you to think of the best service you've had at a restaurant and tell me what the server did that made you comfortable or that made the experience so memorable. Please and thank you!
That's how I am too! I want to be treated professionally and get my food. Ha. That's the main reason why this is so hard for me. But thank you so much for the input!

I think I might be the minority in this but my favorite waiters and waitresses were the ones that didn't flirt and try to make conversation. It kind of makes me uncomfortable when they do because I know they're being nice to get money from me.

I prefer it when I get someone that is friendly and polite, but professional and almost unseen for the extent of the meal. When I go to restaurants I go to spend time with friends and loved ones, not to talk to strangers.
