There is a restaurant out in the city that I ADORE. Their food is excellent. I'm a huge fan of soul food. But every time we go, we sometimes feel uncomfortable for being the only white person in the restaurant. I'll look up from our table and see that people will be looking at us as if to say "What are they doing here?" I feel terrible for feeling that way. How can I banish this "self conscious" feeling and go to this place more often?
Am I wrong for being uncomfortable when going to a restaurant where I am a minority?
