idk i'm 13 and Im in this new fighting phase and I love fighting. I want a mouse (bruise) under my eye for some reason. I don't know how to explain it. I guess it'd make me feel tough, strong and very confident.

Yup... You're weird!

Bruises are a clear indication that you are not very good at martial art.
In the case of a shiner, it means that you can't block, parry or deflect worth squat!

If you are any good, it's the OTHER GUY who gets bruises, not you!

If you are a dedicated student of the martial arts, you don't get into a situation where you would get a black eye in the first place!

I guess you could be considered weird.

I just think you want hardcore fight training. Buddy and myself used to go to Wing Chun classes and come home covered in bruises on our arms and legs.

We'd be so sore that we'd have to sleep in funny positions because if we laid down wrong we would feel extreme discomfort in our limbs.

I would have insane blood sore on the top of my arms for days, bruises all over my shins and tri's, welts on my wrists, and I loved every second of it. Eventually our bodies conditioned so we'd have to train even harder to try and get those same results, but it was great.

Made you feel really confident that you could take on just about anyone when you were done with training.

I don't think you're weird, you just need to find the right outlet for your new desire.

because you'd look like an nfl player?
I spent some time last fall walking around with a black eye, and had the same conversation for two weeks:
"what happened to your eye?"
"a guy punched me"
"why? what did you do to him"
"nothing, we were boxing"
"looks like you need to work on your defense, huh?"
"heh...yeah"

it gets old after a while, believe me

Kid - you need to grow up.

Bruising is not healthy and desiring it is even worst.

You have a twisted view of martial arts which stems from you watching UFC without proper guidance and supervision.

One more thing - if you knew what fighting really was, you would not love it.

If you think so, I'll pay your plane fare to my city and put you with other 13 year old kids.

We'll see if you like fighting.
