Hey, I always wanted to become an animator, I didn't pursue it 'cos was persuaded not to. Now I'm 23 and I really want to get in to the industry and work as an animator preferably for movie/tv production. I will have to go back to college part- time and study art/3D animation and start from there- the highest qualification I have is GCSE Art and Graphics.
I would be most grateful if any one could give me any advice and answer my question 'cos I'm afraid I might be too old to start this career, thanks a lot.

Years ago it was the most common thing for a person to have one job or career for their entire life. Today having 2 or 3 or more distinct careers is common. I can't believe you think you are too old at 23! But I understand as technology is changing so fast, any small period out takes a lot of catching up. I think there is no reason why you cannot suceed. Talk to proffs at a degree level course and see what you have to do to get there. It may take a long time and money, but if it is your passion, then go for it.
I'm 44 and on my third career!
