Am i too late to join marching band (drumline)?

i am 19 in community college, i have had a backround of music since i was very young...i can play guitar, piano, and can play around with the clarinet...i was wondering if i would have a chance at playing for a drumline in a university. i would have about 1.5 years to get ready b4 the time comes.???
