im 187cm and 80 kgs...
would a 848 be uncomfortable for me?

how would i feel on a 1098?
btw is 916, 998 any smaller than 1098?

best bet would be to go to a dealer and sit on them all. Some dealers even have left over 999's you can also sit on. Also check out the bike shows...

I'm 193cm and fit comfortably on a stock 1098 or 848.

Before I modded it some, it was comfortable for 4-5 hr rides with stops for gas. Mods that made it even more comfortable included rear sets and triple clamp.

Like any dedicated sport bike, the riding position is not as comfortable as a sport touring bike or a naked bike or cruiser. But, that is comparing apples to oranges.

Hope this helps.

187cm... thats like 6 foot tall or little over right??? I'm basically 6'0" barefoot and I fit well. I agree with KarlG, this is a superbike and does not compare with sport touring bikes or naked bikes. I do believe at 6 fool tall I too could benefit from rear sets also I find it more comfortable to sit futher back on the seat and not directly up hugging the tank...but with braking you easily slide up to the tank, also would probably benefit with a different shaped seat and gripper aftermarket seat.

Also if your really serious go ahead and make the trip to a dealer and take a test drive. I test drove one at a dealer about a month previously prior to returning for purchase.

I am 5'7", 170lbs., inseam of only 29" and I fit so well I do not need to modify anything ergonomically.
Much more comfy than my CBR1000RR where I needed to raise the clip ons.
I do all day rides with this bike and do not feel any fatigue anywhere.
You have to go and actually sit on one. Those that are as tall as yourself will be helpful with their feedback but in the end, it's really up to you and how you feel on the bike that matters.
How about going to where you know Duc riders hang out? Maybe if you ask nicely, they will let you sit on their bike(s). I would.
Good luck.

No, you're not too tall. I'm 5'8" and my 848 was one of the tallest bikes I've owned, seat height of 32 1/2". I put rearsets on it to bring the pegs up. My husband is 6'2" and he rode it comfortably on longer street rides. I've owned a 916 and a 748R in the past, those had lower seats and tighter leg positions in comparison.

Only negative to the 848 is the sloping seat into tank and the lower bars. It puts a lot of weight into your back.

I'm 190cm and the 1098 fits great. Long rides get my wrists a bit but I'm looking into the new triple clamp to raise the bars a bit to solve that problem. My legs fit under the lip of the tank with no problem, actually, with room to spare. Usually my knees would be at or above that lip on most bikes.
