well me and a friend of mine. I've had cricket for almost 2 years now and I have never EVER been able to receive texts from people on cingular (at&t) or sprint. I called them and told them many times and they say the issue is resolved, but what do ya know... no texts from those people. Now I'm even thinking of cutting my service with them and going with someone else. That's the only problem I have with Cricket and I'm sure it can be fixed, at least I hope it can. I noticed that both my friend and I ported our nurabers from virgin mobile. Maybe that could be it? Anyone ever heard of this problem? Anything I can do to fix it?

I have no problem getting texts from att or cingular customers. I know both and have been texting someone with a new iPhone all day with no problems. Maybe cricket doesnt like you...

You might try getting a new nuraber. (Phone nuraber) as it could be the problem. I sent a text message from a frienRAB AT&T smartphone and go it on my MotoQ within a minute with no problems.

DO this:

1. dial *228 and let your phone reprogram... maybe you've just got an old PRL or some setting that neeRAB to be changed.

2. Take the battery out of your phone for 5 minutes..

3. try your text.. If it doesn't work, call customer service and ask them to start a trouble ticket for you.

I had this problem as well. I couldn't receive text messages from Cingulair customers, although they could from me. After several calls to the Cricket tech people, they kept telling me someone would call me back but they never did. Finally, I went in to the full service Cricket store and they put in a request and then a tech person called me back and was able to fix it. Not sure how exactly he fixed it though...

finally someone else! I thought I was the only person in these forums that had this problem. So I'm not crazy then. I'll call cricket again! thanks

I'll try that again. They're so hard to work with. All they tell me is that they don't have a contract with those companies. But someone i talked to a while back said that has nothing to do with it. Obviously it doesn't if only a certain amount of people have this problem.

When they fixed mine, its seems like I recall the guy mentioning that the problem had something to do with my porting my nuraber in.. but I can't quite recall. But you're not the only one! Keep bugging em about it.

I am. I sent an email and called them AGAIN and they said they'd call me in 2 to 3 business days. If they don't I'm calling them and asking what's up.

Well i called yesterday so they should call by monday hopefully

I had a problem getting my voicemail turned back on after I ported my nuraber. It took them about 8 hours to fix the problem but I got my voicemail back. Make sure you visit a corporate store or a Premier dealer and have them send an e-mail to their operations manager about your problem. The ops manager should have it fixed within a day.

I visited the main store here cuz they kept telling me it was my phone. But this is the second phone I've had. Everything is fine with the phone. There's no more "scripted" answers they can tell me that i haven't done. Remove battery, *228 countless times, gone to the store twice, emailed, called countless times also. If it doesn't work this time i'm giving up on them and may consider switching companies.
