No he his better off still flip flopping and changing his mind in the senate and still offering no new ideas except to lower taxes...cut taxes for the rich and cut taxes for the richer....he must be happy and should be because he would be out of his ' pay grade' and never did handle stress very much

On some level you have a point, but I do not think he is happy at all.
He has spent many years trying to attain that office.
I have to say however that Republicans that are strategy thinkers should be quite happy he did not win. It would have ended up Republicans likely fighting McCain daily rather than what is likely to become a very politically profitable fight against Obama (I am one of those Republicans in fact).

McCain is a patriot who cares a great deal about this country. With the damage Obama is doing to us, it has to pain McCain a lot that he wasn't able to prevent it.
