...health care? i was having an interesting discussion today. we came to the conclusion that health care is so expensive because people with insurance don't shop around at different places. why would they if insurance will pay for it? we figured that people should buy health insurance but only to cover expensive medical bills. everyone should just pay out of pocket for a doctors visit. doctors could compete more for patients which helps consumers. employers would save so much money from not having to pay for health care which helps business.
if doctors had to compete more for patients the price of a simple doctors visit would go down. they could charge $25 for a 10 minute visit. seems affordable to me.
