Lots of people in the LGBT community have embraced the world queer but i hate it. I get really offended when i hear it applied to me. I understand words change meanings over time but queer is still used in a hurtful way and to mean odd or unfitting. I don't feel any different from straight people past my sexuality and i don't think i should describe myself as such. Am i alone in hating this word?
Am i the only one bothered by the word 'queer'?
