Am I screwed because I accidently put my card's PIN number when they asked for CVC number?

I entered it to purchase some in-game points for League of Legends and somehow they were able to cash in money from the pin and not the actual cvc code.
And I just found out you can't put pin in the cvc so why is it that it could charge the money?
