Am I right, or should she mind her own business?

My mother in law gave me a bad glaring look with her eyes because I smacked her daughter (MY WIFE!) in the butt. She called her daughter over, and were talking in private, and they kept looking at me while talking, and she even pointed at me. Should she really be upset, and what I did was wrong, or do I have the right to act how I want with my wife?

Not only was your mother-in-law right she should have called the police and had you thrown in jail for domestic violence.

I don't know where you're from but you DO NOT have a right to put your hands on your wife, unless your are defending yourself and you weren't.

How would would like it if someone hit you in the butt. Grow the hell up and act like a decent husband and human being.

Your "Wife"! not your punching bag!
What next? You will kick her?
D... head!
I would rip your head of when you would hit my daughter!
Married to you or not!

It depends on the person and their morals and values. it seems she a uptight person so cater to her persona if you love your wife and just say you are sorry.

I don't think what she did is a big deal. Unless she actually comes up to you and talks to you about it, don't fret/stress over it. You're her husband, you're entitled to do this stuff, y'know?

yes, she's your wife. she was their daughter first, and part of their lives longer than yours. just be sensitive to things in the future. with your wife, talk to her about this....without being an upset defensive jackass. ex: "what happened with your mom in there? she seemed upset at me." ... "were you okay with me smacking your butt like that?"
