Am I progressing too slowly in skateboarding? How can I get better faster?

Hey,

I've been skateboarding since April of this year now, and I think I'm just really not picking it up very fast. I practiced every day for probably about 1-2 hours after school while the school year was still going, and for a few hours on weekends. Now, throughout the summer, it's pretty much all I've done. I'll wake up, skateboard for maybe an hour, come back for 15 minutes to half an hour to break, then go right back out, and continue that pattern until it gets dark.

I can ride fast and get around no problem, but when it comes to tricks, that's where I'm having trouble. I've only really just figured out how to ollie properly within the last two weeks, but my ollies are still sloppy. I don't get a lot of height, and oftentimes I won't land it. I can't ollie over obstacles at all (I don't time it well). But I've just been practicing over and over again, and I'm realizing that it took my friends way less time to get better than me. One of my friends was shocked that I still can't kickflip. All of my friends said it didn't take them nearly as long to learn how to ollie as it did for me.

I'm starting to wonder if maybe I should take lessons? I'm clearly having trouble getting the hang of this on my own, and figured maybe lessons would help me a lot. The trouble is, I don't think there are places where I can take lessons anywhere in my area. I thought it would help if I practiced with my friends instead of on my own, but they're all way better than me, so it's kinda boring for them I guess. Does anyone have any tips that could maybe help me progress faster, get better balance, etc.

Thanks!
