Am I ok to remove the silencer/spark arrestor from my yamaha blaster?

I just want to know if it will sacrifice performance to remove my silencer. It's all rusty and ugly and it burns my ass since its large and i broke off my rear fenders
well..im definitely not replacing the fenders, but i was thinking of getting the toomey b1 pipe kit. I think i could live with being burnt lol. i mostly ride in mud or gravel ill try not to catch anything aflame. i took it off just now and it it very loud and awesome. as long as it wont hurt the quad ill think ill be ok
 
not a good idea! its too dangerous and would possibly throw out sparks if you drive thru grass and brush. Good way to start a brush fire! Seen it happen already especially if you go offroad!
 
Fix your fenders & replace the exhaust system. Check with your Yamaha dealer, or a local cycle salvage yard to find used parts.
You don't want to risk starting a grass or brush fire by running straight pipes.
