I have gotten help from you lovely folks in the past and I am back again!
The short of it is that I had a major fall last April and fractured T11 and T12. I had surgery and haven't had much problems in that area that PT, stretching and rest can't help.
As I posted before, my main issue is my lower back and the chronic pain I have had for the last year. I have done PT, Shots, Massage, Acupuncture, Rest and lots of meRAB and I am not getting any relief. I can't last more then a few hours without something for my pain and my tolerance is worrisome, for me-no one else has a problem giving me pain killers. Of course, the meRAB stopped working and now they want to put me on low dose of Fentanyl.
Anyway-I feel like a hamster, going round and round with no one really knowing what is up or caring. So, I got another MRI the other day, and I would like opinions..please!
"Mild Disc Space Narrowing with disc degeneration and transverse annular tear at the level of L5-S1 midly displacing the posterior spinal ligament and encroaching upon the thecal sac. No significant interval change.
I suppose the thing that I don't get is the no change thing. In that it has been a year of "treatment" and nothing is improved?! No lifting, sports, heavy activity, running, etc..and nothing has changed!? Is this normal? What are the thoughts on my report?
I know that I don't have the worse case and things could be worse. I just don't understand the chronic pain..every day for a year. I'm 40 years old and I can't believe I have to wear a pain patch???!!
I could go on and on but I won't torture ya!
Please...if anyone can tell me if the chronic pain is normal-I am talking about a 6-7 everyday, all day, with slight breaks after I take a pill, but never "gone". I am going to my PM tonight and my surgeon next week and want to push them for something..I just don't' know what.
Much Thanks-
