My ex gf showed up at my job and we started arguing. out of nowhere, in the parking lot of my job, she swings at me and scratches my face twice. Out of self defense i grabbed her by her hair (rather hard i guess because she claims i knocked her hard) and pushed her to the floor and sat on her so she'd stop. After she cooled down a tad she picks up my hat and hits me again. then i went inside. Now, she is 5' 5" and 200 plus pounds. i am 6' 3" and 145 pounds. She scratched my face quite badly. Afterward i sent her really nasty text messages insulting her and telling her how she has no class for doing this in my work place.
when we were in 8th grade i admit i once pounced at her and nothing more. However that is the only time i initiated physical contact because SHE hits me first. One time at a carnival she was slapping me and i stood there. Another time at her house she hit me several times and i knocked her to the floor to sit on her. This has been the only time that shes ever left physical marks.
oh and before i forget, in 8th grade i scratched her and bit her facetiously, we were just playing around not knowing that i would leave a mark.
im not trying to say im a saint because i wasn't exactly a perfect boyfriend, but i wouldn't initiate contact with her.
Now idk what to do because my parents are involved and hers too. Mine want to press charges but i dont really want to. Will i get in trouble? will it backfire and I go to jail? i dont want things to get to the legal level.
