Am I crazy

So I have been thinking about changing devices to a HTC TyTn II Kaiser just to have access to the 3g network. I use my phone tons and edge is slow. Am I crazy???

The real question is are you even in a 3G area to utilize it, Rogers vision services is great, when it's working and it's in your area.

Yah I'm in a 3g area. A couple of my friends have the vision service and its pretty nice. Although it was down for a little while yesterday. I just don't know about switch from BB to a windows device. The OS on the TyTn II looks really good.

Wifi this wifi that. BB are far behind in the wifi business and how long are they going to make us wait for 3g BB? BB should have had wifi 2 years ago (in my mind). I'm more interested in faster internet and download speeds

The HTC devices are nice but I'm not a fan of anything Microsoft. The new BB 8320 (Curve 2) has fully functional WiFi and "should" be out sometime mid November to early December. As for EDGE, I have to state that EV-DO is faster but again, this will depend on your location. When HSDPA becomes available, this will be much faster. The problem at the moment is even with EV-DO REV: 0, A or B and EDGE/HSDPA, the hardware is still throttling the true potential. I think this has to do with the network itself being able to handle the "potential" bandwidth but am not sure on this.

Either way, the HTC devices are nice but if you're a true fan of the BB's, stick it out, get a Curve 2 and take advantage of the WiFi and a unlimited data plan which has just been release but implements a softcap usage policy to combat potential abuse of data.

Yah screw rogers and their new plan I just commented on it in another thread every one should read it. I was shocked. I think I will be waiting for the Curve 2

Check out my response in the other thread. Your concern is valid but I think you are worrying about something which would not concern you. The softcap is in place strictly for those who are going to take advantage of the system and abuse the "unlimited" policy. As I understand things, even U.S. carriers are not truly unlimited and have a soft-cap in place.

Rogers did this to ensure when the 8320 is released, people still use data and don't make a complete jump over to WiFi.

The 8310 BB Curve is out on Rogers but the 8320 BB Curve 2 is out but not available at this time on the Rogers network. Yes, you can buy one unlocked but for those who want a true branded Rogers BB Curve 2 (8320) the hopefull release is not until mid November -> early December.
