Am I Being A Douchebag?

You need to talk to the parents and convince them to reconsider. If that doesnt work contact police dept. A Childs life is on the line.
 
Normally i would say "No way" But are they asking you as a friend to help keep an eye out for the kid and ride in back?If you don't think the kid is ready for a overnight ride then i guess you have to make it a point to say hey no way and why. (If the overnight ride is to DisneyLand than Definitely NO!!!) If anything does happen with the kid and you arn't there to help will you feel bad? How close are these friends? We were all young once,I remember taking the family car out at 13,with some pals,din't get caught!! LOL....
You know the situation, 15 years old.....Long time ago for me...I Acted alot older seemed i was more mature than guys my age....Ha, what did i know...Lookin' back,NOT ENOUGH!!!
 
I agree with all that's been said. You should avoid the situation but I would suggest letting your friend know that you don't think a 16 yr old without a license should be on the road, for his own safety. Tell him you have another committment for that day but when the kid is older and has a license you'll look forward to riding with them.
 
I honestly believe your doing what you feel is right. No one can tell you that your wrong in this situation and you are the one that has to be comfortable with the guys you ride with. I personally agree with you and would pass on this ride. Screw them for thinking your a Douchebag.
 
First, this is 2010 and nor 1960 or 1970. Today any type of weather + inexperience = traffic accidents & lawyers. As a worst case, say the boy is in the middle of the group and either goes down or nearly goes down causing you to spill. Guess what, no license = no insurance. So who is going to pay for repair to your ride? DING! That's right neighbor, YOU (or your insurance) will be coughing up the $$s.
 
Wow, all the "stay away" replies. No wonder our country is turning into a wuss state. Geezus, let the kid ride, give him space. How the heck is he gonna learn??? It's his bike, his parents responsibility, if something happens, it's on them, not you.

Unless folks aren't confident of their own riding abilities, I say go with them, giv'em space and enjoy....

Just as long as members of the group know this, and don't outride him, he should hang just fine.

But that's just me, so..do what ya gotta do..
