What's wrong with it appealing to them? It'll make them want to go back and see the originals.

okay....okay. i'll give them the benefit of the doubt here. maybe this is a one shot gag in the movie that they're using for the poster and we'll get the red cap wearing alvin we all know and love for the rest of the movie...otherwise, well we're looking to have possibly the worst mutilation since the matthew broderick inspector gadget film.(hip wiscracking gadget mobile anyone?

Well, how well did Fat Albert do?
According to the latest Warner Bros. chat with HTF (Here: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7285), They're apparently looking into the R-S version If that does happen (which is more likely than, say, Disney releasing Muppet Babies, especially with that Chipmunks movie coming out), expect lots of cut and scrib jobs on the musical segments.

I can imagine how the boardroom meeting for this went down. Someone said, "If we're going to do an Alvin and the Chipmunks movie, we need to revamp the characters to make them appeal to today's youth. I got it! Let's make 'em look like Gary the Gopher from Caddyshack and dress them like the Wu-Tang Clan. Kids love those guys!"

I don't know about ya'll but that poop joke was not funny.
AT ALL.
But overall, the movie doesn't look so bad. It probably be as good as if not slightly better than the Garfield movie.

I saw that poster when I went to the movie theaters yesterday... I couldn't help but to chuckle just a little bit... I mean, really... Who the heck's going to see this one? It looks absolutely ridiculous...
