Alto Flute Fingering/Technique Books?

So, I play the regular C flute, and a year and a half ago I purchased an alto flute. Me, my family, and band director have searched everywhere for a book that teaches you how to play the alto flute and there doesn't seem to be one anywhere. I know the fingerings are the same, but say the music reads to play a C, well you're going to use the G fingering to play that C. I'm not very good at transposing music, although I may have to if I can't find a book.
Any advice, tips, or suggestions?
