Alternative History 2009: McCain has had a heart attack and died, Palin can't hack

The republicans are desperate peoples .They even pray for the death of their own republicans members for political gain.

If she quit BEFORE his heart attack, it would be who ever he named to be her successor (Romney?). If he died, then she wanted to quit, it would be who ever she appointed as VP (Sean Parnell?). If she quit before selecting a VP, it would go to Nancy Pelosi.
 
Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, is next in line after the VP. Unless the VP when she/he became president appointed a new VP and then resigned, then that VP would become Presidnet.
 
Palin would have been sworn in as President, and she would have appointed a new VP (not sure who it would be).

If, as in your scenario, Palin then resigns the VP would be sworn in as President.
 
Presuming that Palin has had time to appoint a new Vice President, under the 25th Amendment that appointee would have to be confirmed by majorities of both houses of Congress, which would be under Democratic control. You think either house would confirm any wacko SHE would appoint? Therefore, it would then go to Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Then, with her appointee for Vice President... Barack Obama, perhaps?... and Speaker Steny Hoyer and Majority Leader Harry Reid running things, we'd get REAL change!
 
When the pres dies, then the VP quits, the speaker of the house takes over. If the republcoots had had their way and elected McCain, they would of made Pelosi our nest president.

You really think Palin would have just stepped aside?

and 3rd in line would still be pelosi

It is independent of the president, \

and the senate would still be democrat run.
