alright sanding down my 1992 dodge dakota! very bad paint recall! horrible...

...rust and paint bubbling!? Ok my idea is to save money on this project, i got this truck for 80 bucks with 100 thousand on it! but the paint is rediculous! Please i have been sanding it down till i see the entire panels metal, only becouse so much rust and the paint looks like it rusted to? Question is am i wasting my time by going so deep? i have allready primed the roof, i used 80 grit with a hand sander, and rustolium grey primer! it doesnt look to bad at all and i am trying to get as much of the old stuff out of the cracks and creveses! and if you could help me with what steps i should be taking to properaly remove the old paint as in sandind to the metal then primer first coat, then second coat, then wet sand, or wait to i am ready to have the pros paint it to wet sand? i am a nooby!!!! but i have the time!! Oh and which areas, as in all the seems and folds should i prime for paint and which should i not worry about? Thanks to Any and all!!!
