alright, ready for a high end phone

first off, im sorry for creating many threads here, but now I have my money staright and I know how much I can spend.

I want to buy something around the RIZR price range. ($230+?)

Im thinking about the RIZR, but iam not sure what other phones are out there in that price range.

So What do you recommend?

isnt the w810i better than a RIZR?

I dont want a straight up mp3 phone. Just want it to have an mp3 player. I want something NICE and hot
 
Out of those two phones, as much as I love the style of the RIZR, id probably pick the w810i. I think its a better quality phone, better camera, better call quality and is a more durable "bar" design. If you need more info and noone else here responds, check out CNETs review on the two. They also prefer the Sony.
 
w810i is a LOT better than the RIZR. It packs features and functions into a phone whereas RIZR is mainly about style (although, i'll admit, styling isn't bad... but then the question is do you want a piece of eye candy or something thats more functional?) -obviously the w810i is the best answer.

btw if you want a high end phone and money is no issue, take a look at Sony Ericsson K790a and make sure it's unlocked (if you aren't using Rogers as your carrier)
 
I dont want strickly looks, or stickly function. I want a mix of both, but more stylish. Also, on the RIZR, cant u turn it sideways for landscape mode and stuff? Its not just between the RIZR and KRZR and w800i. I want all of your opinions on different phones. Its not just those 3 that I only want
 
if you're looking for a high-end phone, get a sharp 903sh, its a nice, stylish phone but packs alot of features. 3.2mp camera, swivel screen, 2x optical zoom, barcode scanner, much much more. i got it recently, i love it, menu could be better, wish there was more 3rd party software, but otherwise a great phone
 
I personally prefer the RIZR over the W810i. Other options might include the Samsung D900. If you want a really good phone, wait for the Motorola RIZR Z6. Also, the Motorola MAXX is a nice phone.
 
PDA phones

bad battery life
OS has only a certain lifetime
Touchscreen is a pain

doesnt mean its a smartphone, doesnt mean its a better phone....
 
it depends what you want in a phone, multimedia, PDA function, nice camera, everybody is different assuming that a smart phone is better is nonsense
 
being able to play xvid music videos (vs listening to only audio) on a 2.8" screen isnt cool?

being able to control almost any IR consumer device (TV's Projectors, etc) isnt cool?

being able to change the UI to anything you can possibly imagine (iphone interface, etc)?

being able to hold approx 10 DVD's on your phone isnt cool? (4GB SD can hold around 8-15 DVD's depending in QVGA size)

man.. what IS cool in high school then? razr? drugs? skipping class? being the scum of society and not having a future?
 
my phone can do 5hrs talk time, 10 days stand by
the razr is 3.5hrs talk and 8 days stand by
the razr is not capable of a hi cap battery, my pda phone is, with the hi cap it can last litterally twice as long.

os has a certian life time, true, its call a reflash, i can upgrade my phones OS, ive upgraded the OS on my axim like 3 times, everytime its added all the new features in. and yes its only a couple times you can do it before the hardware is out of date. but phones are out of date in 0.5 yrs, my phone is over a year old and it still has more functionality than most other phones out there.

touchscreen is not a pain when you are surfing. trying to scroll through websites like ebay or even just google with a d-pad is a pain, i can just click and im there. plus with a touch screen i have the option of a full screen keyboard (IE SPB full screen keyboard)

true you have no tactile feel with a touch screen, but pda phones have full qwerty keyboards
 
i know but most people have the razr in HS cuz i see it everywhere. even people in grades 7-9 have razr's (here 7-9 is jr high school)

Nokia 6265i (another popular one)

LG 8100 (mp3 phone)
2.5hrs talk 6days SB (THIS SUCKS!)

also my phone is one of the smaller PDA phones, if you get a big PDA phone like the JasJar you have 8hrs talk and 260 SB
