Alright, lets take a poll...

The graphics were nice, I just didn't find the games fun. Maybe if I find more games I like, then I'd buy the system; however, for now, I'll pass.

When I mean graphics aren't everything, I mean there has to be some substance behind the game. Imagine the Superman N64 game (rated one of the worse games ever) on the 360. In that game, you just basically fly through rings; would the great graphics make you forget about the crappy gameplay?
Example would be a buying an Enzo with a 3 cylinder Geo Metro engine in it. Looks nice, but there's no fun in driving it; unless you like slow cars.

PS3 - Will buy eventually... when the price drops. There's no way I would want to miss out on FF13, MGS4, GT5, God of War 3, etc. Still, $600 is too much, and Sony would be stupid if they don't lower the price before the thing actually launches. No way will the PS3 win the console war if it costs that much more than the competition.

XBOX 360 - I own it, and don't regret the purchase one bit.

Wii - Will buy at launch.

Wii - most certainly getting one

360 - maybe, but it really hasn't caught my eyes yet

PS3 - maybe a few years after release, price is way too high for my casual gaming habits.

Although the ps3 price is a lot higher than I want to pay, the idea of having the included blu-ray player makes it easier to digest. I mean, I think the original playstation was my only dvd player at the time and saved me cash that way.

With the 360, you will have to shell out more cash to have the HD-DVD expansion which makes it cost closer to what the PS3 is if you plan to also use it as a "next gen DVD" player as well.

Of course it also depends on which becomes the standard for future DVD though.

I'll add my age, I'm 25; I think it's relevant. I don't know how old some of these other OTers are, but I'm going to have to say that the younger ones haven't played anything older than a PS1 which leads to some of the their opinions to the newer consoles. Graphics aren't everything, look at NES games, I wish I still had my NES (emulators aren't the same).

Wii - I'll being buying one at launch or around launch time if I can get one.
Nintendo first-party games are the best; Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart,
Smash Brothers, etc.
PS3 - I'll buy one eventually, but I'm not paying $600 for a system. I'll
probably buy a 2nd generation PS3.
360 - Never planned on buying one. I don't like 1st person shooters,
except for GoldenEye, & 360 is mostly FPS.

I'll make an analogy that OT can relate to. Graphics for a system can be similar to a girl. Sure, a girl might look good, but if all she has are looks & nothing else...she's going to get boring.

i'll get a ps3 and 360 when they get cheaper. the wii looks way too gimmicky and i haven't owned a nintendo product since the snes. i don't think i'm missing out

PS3 - like the previews of most of the games.

(Those that think PS3 will have multiplayer games don't kid yourself it will support more controllers but almost no developer will make multiplayer games)

Wii - also look awesome - I am a Zelda fanboy but didn't have a GC so I need to play catchup . FPS games will be awesome of the gamecube if they come out with a good games. (Red steel looks like it will suck). As for the rest of the game they look to be fun as well.

(will have multiplayer games)

XBOX - not attracted to most of the games that are exclusive xbox with the exception of a couple.

it's just a slightly faster gamecube.. there is almost no difference between gamecube and wii hardware.. the only difference between the systems worth noting is the control system.

nintendo is staying cheap to introduce their new controller while HD gaming is still expensive and will cost microsoft and sony a lot to use

you serious? so thats what people are bicthing about? WHO THE FUCK CARES IF IT DOESNT INCLUDE 2 HDMI PORTS. Wow, I honestly think maybe .1% of the population that will own a ps3 will have 2 HDTVs side by side

Nailed it on the head for me, except the HD-dvd thing. And the nes-n64/genesis/TG16 games will only be "best of's" they don't plan to make all of them available...the hackers will do that for us.

PS3 has only shown 3 games I'll want, and none are at launch anyway, not enough good games anounced at all to warrant $300 purchase let alone $500+.

im definately going to buy a wii.
hopefully the 360 will get a price drop around that time and im if halo3 comes out then i have a feeling my bro may buy it.
ps3? i think i can wait like 4 years for it to get cheap. when i left TGS i was definately going to buy ps3 - then e3 came and the price came harder.

oh and im tempted to paint revolution on the wii.
