Alright, lets take a poll...

Just within OT, lets see what the results will be.

Check out MSNBCs poll, about 32000 votes, 64% wont buy it and the 2nd highest is "maybe"

Also, post why you chose what you did

That poll is being too kind to Sony. It gives the impression that $499 is closer to being the "real" price than $599.

But a big no from me.

PS3 looks horrible, and the Wii is awesome looking. Just because a console, PS3, has a game with a well established name, MGS, does NOT mean it's a good system, everything looks horrible for what you pay. The Wii.. self explanitory.

Own a 360 currently, want a ps3, but at 5 or 6 hundred, i dont think i'll get one, at least not for a while. Friends will have them so thats good enough.

I may buy a Wii, twilight princess looks awesome.

360 - I own (and I have always been a Sony fan, and I do not own an Xbox) Right now it is looking like I made the better purchase in getting the 360

PS3 - I want it, but I don't think I will shell out $600 just for the console. Adding on a game and adding on a controller, it just going to make it too expensive for me to justify. Also, as everyone has been saying, it is going to take a year or two before the developers really figure out how to code for the PS3, so I will probably wait two years before I get a PS3, and hopefully the price will be much lower by then.

Wii - I like the idea, I like the cost, I would really love to play a lot of the old games I played on Nintendo, plus I have always loved the Mario series. I will probably get this, but I will need to see it first person before I actually decide on getting it or not.

Overall, I think Microsoft has a huge upper hand right now. People that were loyal to Sony are not as loyal recently because of the price and because of the lack of delivery on the promises Sony has been making. Plus, 360 is already out there and is going to be well into their second year of having developers develop for the system; their games are just going to be ahead of Sony's for a few years to come.

I pretty much agree but I thinkt he 360 is better then you think. I didn't really plan on getting the 360 until I played it a few times and really thought it was a great system. I ended up buying the stupid thing, and it will probably prevent me from buying the PS3

My friend has a 360 & I've played some of the games. Not really a big fan of the games. I don't really care about really high def graphics, sure, they're nice, but I like to enjoy playing the game first. At least the controller is a lot better. I don't like Halo or games like that. Need for Speed Most Wanted is fine for me on the PS2. Really no reason for me to get a 360. In my local Walmart, the have a few Premium 360s sitting on the shelf, guess the rush for them is over.

i'm not buying a PS3. 600 is way too much.

i'm not buying a 360. 400 + 150 for HD-DVD is way too much.

i'm buying a Wii. more fun than both of those + 200 bux + you can download tons of old NES, SNES, Genesis, and TurboGrafx 16 games.

alot of those old games are 100x better than these new big budget games.

PS3-Won't buy it
I thought it would be amazing. 2 HDMI ports at both 1080p. That is unheard of, and now it isn't even being used. The 499 version doesnt have an HDMI port and the 599 version only has 1. That is no where near two. The controller doesn't have vibrate(big deal in racing games and FPS). The controller has basically a digital gyro, but it can only support tilts, and not actual moving like the Wii.

Xbox 360-Have it
I love this mean machine. I can't stop playing it. The titles are now getting full use of the system and the developers have a good 6 months under their belts and are spitting out great games left and right. The controller is great, it feels awesome. The price is killer at only 399, 200 less then the PS3. It has 3 USB ports and can support iPod's, PSP's,Keyboards, and Digital Camera's.

Wii-Will Buy It
200 bones, are you fucking joking me. This costs the difference between the PS3 and Xbox 360. I am getting it for sure. It has the entire motion sensing, unlike the PS3. In the E3 videos it shows people playing baseball and tennis with it. If that isn't cool, stop playing videogames. It is backwards compatable with gamecube games, Warioware and Mario Party FTMFW.

Overall, the leaderboard will be as follows in the US.
1-Xbox 360
2-Wii
3-PS3

The only way I will buy a PS3 is if in 5 years it is only 150 bucks like PS2's are now.

Xbox 360>Wii>*>PS3

Agreed. Except, one question.. what the hell is the big deal about 2 HDMI ports? who the fuck has 2 high def tvs side by side, and if they did, what would be the point? or am I missing something?
