Alpine type r of kicker L7?

Which subs would be better the 12 inch type r or 12 inch L7? I'm looking for a sub with INSANE bass, but I like subs that are clear and clean. Thanks!
 
I have 2 alpine type R's in my car (1994 ford tempo) i also have Kicker L7's in my other car. They are both very clear. Id have to say about the same quality (very high). Id have to say it comes down to your favorate manufacture.
