I need help deciding which speakers to put in the front doors of my '05 Escape- I like how easy it is to install coaxial much better. Either choice will be powered by a 90w x2 RMS Rockford Fosgate amp with the doors sound deadened/sealed as good as possible. They will be paired with a 12" subwoofer running on 400w RMS.
My main problem with components is where to mount the tweeters; the only place I can see to mount them is on the dash or on the sail panels. I've read that these locations are too far from the woofer for the best sound quality. I also don't like the idea of having the tweeter so conspicuously mounted.
With a decent install, would the difference between the coaxial and components be very noticeable? Suggestions for better components or coaxial that can handle 90w RMS for <$250 are welcome. Any input is appreciated.
