Alpine head units. Need help choosing which one?

i like the alpine kce 9884 and the alpine kce 9886. the 9886 cost 100$ more and has a two line display with 4 volts preamp output. the 9884 only has a 2 volt preamp output and a one line display. i am going to be using my ipod alot with it and am going to eventually get an amp or 2 with a sub. is it really worth the $100 to get the 9886 headunit?
 
Personally, I would get the the 9886. You'll like the 2 line display and the preamps will help.
