Hi,
I have gastritis, acid reflux for 15 years. It started with lots of acid in my stomach...then I have GERD, but no burning sensation. I had little sour, bitter taste. No pain. recently, I had minor stomach irritation. My anxiety causes acid reflux getting worse. I am on Xanas/protonix (before that I took prilosec, nexium...). I heard tumeric can help to heal the irritation in my stomach. I bought it from the ad on the internet. I drank yellow/white turmeric for 10 days. It caused severe heartburn (I never had heart burn before). Then I had acid hit my easophagus just 1 time. It was so painful. My doctor give me CARAFATE to prevent it from having the ulcer and protect easophagus tissue. When I sipped Carafate , I feel sore in the irritation area (my eas+stomach). I wonder anybody has the same experience when taking carafate.
Then I use Aloe vera leaf. I tooke the gel and grind it in the blender. When I drank it, I felt sore in those areas. I am afraid I damage my easophagus. I get angry most of the ime b/c I ate the white turmeric that cause more heartburn and more acid reflux.
Please let me know anybody drinks aloe vera and feel sore like me.

Aloe Vera is supposed to sooth and heal the esaphogus and stomach. It shouldn't be irritating. As for Tumeric...my Dr. told me to stop it right away becuse it is an Indian spice and it naturally may cause the burning in your stomach and make it's way up the esaphogus. It is better since I don't take it.
