Almost spoiling the movie for yourself

Today I was looking at the books at Target. And when I was looking at the children's books, I came across a junior novelization of WALL-E. And I found myself wanting to grab the book from the shelf...but kept having to yell in my mind "NONONO WAIT UNTIL THE MOVIE COMES OUT YOU IDIOT!" I did end up reading part of it...but it was only one page, and it was a scene that was shown in the trailer.

Has anyone else ever had this problem before?
 
Not exactly the same but before the Lion King came out I got a cassette and book with the songs, so I already knew all the musical numbers before I saw the movie
 
I read a novelization of the movie Alien before I saw the movie, so all the really surprising scenes, like the alien bursting out of the guy's chest, I already knew about. Kind of ruined it for me.
 
If there was a book about an animated movie that looked promising and I ended up reading it, then I'd still just pay tickets for it just to assist its box office performance, but I'd rather pay for the essentials for survival than a $7 ticket and some concessions at the very same time, so I won't be visiting the cinemas that often:sweat: .
 
When The Simpsons Movie premiered last summer, I had to constantly stop myself from reading the review threads because I wanted to go into it fresh. It was quite a wait, as I ended up not seeing it until it came out on DVD, but it was worth it.
