yeah should buy the directors cut sometime

yeah this story is partly based on some of Cameron Crowe's childhood experiences of when he wrote for Rolling Stone..... But anyways great movie..

How fitting because I just saw this last night on local TV.

Easily one of my favorite movies out there. I love Frances McDormand and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The Tiny Dancer scene is fantastic!

My favorite part was when William was contemplating on what to write about Stillwater and Lester Bangs was all, "You made friends with them, didn't you? because they make you feel cool...." I don't know why, but it always brings tears to my eyes.

And also when William and Penny Lane was on the airport. :bawl:

that was the directors cut that was released on dvd, but I did notice they cute a few scenes which were not appropriate for younger viewers.... so I gues I would call the it the parental abc directors cut

I think Almost Famous is an ideal movie for quoting because there is so many great lines
lol.gif

I love everything Russell says (I am a golden god!) in the movie. Or Jeff

"Rock 'n' roll can save the world"? "The chicks are great"? I sound like a dick!

I totally agree. Totally magical how they start singing together & somehow all is well again, even after they fought. Plus the song is beautiful.

I wanted to get the Director's Cut but I couldn't find it & finally just had to break down and buy a simpler copy.

You're right JacquiJack this movie is fantastic, unforgettable movie, very special!

Yeah, me too!

I love that scene, it is one of the best scenes in the whole movie..

I also love that airplane-scene, where Ed has his only line
lol.gif
although it isn't very happy scene and stuff, but I almost fell off from my chair when he said "I'm gay!" and then suddenly everything was fine again

I saw on some special of the making of Almost Famous that Nancy Wilson, of Heart and Cameron Crowe`s wife, did the vocals to the Stillwater songs.

This is one of my favorite movies. It takes you to a generation in a way that makes it relatable. The people the places and just the simple dialogue between the characters are simple and realistic.

The "I am a golden god" scene followed by the Tiny Dancer sing a long are classic. I think one of my favorite moments would have to be the end scene when Russel thinks hes going to see Penny but ends up at someone elses home. It was a perfect way to tie up the film

Oh my god, I loved this movie! I'm a sucker for the 70s, but man. This movie was fantastic. The rock and roll was awesome, and the performances were beautiful. Kate Hudson and the kid who played the lead wre especially great. I found the movie sweet, touching, funny, everything. One of my favourite movies. :D

This movie was on last night. My boyfriend and I watched the end. I guess since they had to edit so much out they put in deleted scenes. They suprised me. I kept saying, "Hey, that isn't in the movie!"

Hi!

Great to know I'm not the only one!

I love the music in it. And Kate Hudson is awesome.

I loved this movie. I say it last year, and it was just great. I love when a movie can transport you to a different time-era and this movie did just that. There are alot of parts that i liked but one of may fave moments in the movie has to be when everyone starts singing Tiny Dancer. That scene was priceless.

And your right Penny Lane is an amazing character.

Hey, does anyone know if it's Jason Lee (Jeff) singing the songs for Stillwater?? I mean, I'm kinda doubtful it's actually HIM, but then again, I'd like to be sure. (friggin love that man btw, and this movie) :D

Anita Miller: FECK YOU!
Elaine Miller: HEY!
Anita Miller: This is a house of lies!
Elaine Miller: Well there it is, your sister used the "F" word.
William Miller: I think she said "feck."
Elaine Miller: What's the difference?
William Miller: The letter "u."

Some people have a hard time explaining rock 'n' roll. I don't think anyone can really explain rock 'n' roll. Except Pete Townshend, but that's okay. Rock 'n' roll is a lifestyle and a way of thinking... and it's not about money and popularity. Although, some money would be nice. But it's a voice that says, "Here I am... and **** you if you can't understand me." And one of these people is gonna save the world. And that means that rock 'n' roll can save the world... all of us together. And the chicks are great. But what it all comes down to is that thing. The indefinable thing when people catch something in your music. - Jeff Bebe

This movie have an awesome script!! ;)
