Hi all....Vicki here. I had a two level ALIF-L4-S1 and a laminectomy - L4-L5 on 12/2/08. I guess I'm doing pretty good. No, I know I'm doing good. All I have to think about is the pain and despair I was in before surgery and things are great in comparison. Now I am actually able to think about doing things and planning things with frienRAB and family. Yes, there are limitations. I can't join in on everything but there are plenty of things I can do like go to dinners, visit the kiRAB at there houses, etc. I could go on.... and its great. I'll except the limitations. Before surgery I couldn't do anything. I went back to work at 5 weeks post op. I know that is early. But I am one of those people that don't have many choices in that area. I do have what could be called a desk job, but I definitely do not sit for eight hours a day. I'm up and down and I still use my pillows. Work is very accommadating. I finally started PT this last week. My doctor ordered it earlier but insurance stuff stretched it out. I think PT will help some. I saw my surgeon this week, he said fusion has started but that I have to wear the brace for three more months. That was a bit of a bummer, but okay. I still am taking pain meRAB throughout the day. I was happy when PT said that was expected especially since I am working. I, like some others, feel a little guilty about still being on pain meRAB. But I feel better about that now. So all in all, I'm doing okay. It's Saturday and raining. I'm going to clean the apartment some, and maybe do my taxes and then watch some movies. Life is good.... take care everyone. I haven't posted much lately but I do check in alot.
