Has anyone out there seen the new Almodovar film, 'Broken Embraces' yet? I am going to see it tonight.
What is your favourite film from this director? Mine is 'Talk to Her'.

Yes, I liked that one too UltraViolet. I'll let you know what I think of it when I have seen this new one. There aren't many I haven't liked tbh.

love his films. broken embraces not got great reviews but i liked it a lot.

the bit where penelope cruz goes to dump ernesto and he is watching the footage of her dumping him direct to the camera whilst the lipreader says what she is saying was fantastic. best scene in any film i've seen all year.
also rossi de palma's great cameo

"Law of Desire" is my fave.. (el layo del deseo??) sorry dont remember the spanish title.. That scene with Carmen Maura near the fountain on a hot Madrid night where she beckons someone to spray her with a hose is a great scene.

Broken Embraces is a great film - typically Almodovar, though more complex than some. I think I'll have to see it again before I'm sure I understand the plot twists completely.

Of all the Almodovar films I've seen, I like Volver the best. All about my Mother a close second.

"Hose me down' is what Carmen Maura said in that scene I described above..

Women on the Verge.. was my firstr Almodovar film in the cinema. I remember the audience laughing so much..

muchas gracias.. ;)

Great film and very well paced I thought. A typical Almodovar film with all the little twists and turns. I really liked it and will probably watch it when it gets to dvd.
