alltel z6m

It's a Motorola so it should be a piece of cake.

I would venture you could copy the WAP and MMS settings from an OEM Cricket Motorola and use the Motorola PST to write them to the z6m.

Alltel firmwares tend to be universal and especially Cricket-friendly.
 
Im from the Alltel camp and I must say the Z6m is a great phone. I waited for the V9M and was disappointed (sales are really slow in this area btw).

The Z6M has everything from great menus, music player, camera and reception....oh yeah and some great style to boot.

Ive never tried what you want to do but I wonder if the celltop might give you problems? Probably be just a button that you couldnt use.
 
thanks for the replies. i wanted to get one from letstalk they have them without contract for 179.99 but its for existing customers and they said i couldnt get one because theres no alltel in my area, im in san antonio, tx. anybody know where else i could get one for a good price? i been reading that people are liking this one better than the razr2. i like the black color with the green lights. whats the celltop though?
 
I like this phone a hell of a lot more than the V9m. It's basically the exact same phone. Didn't some people flash their L7c's with K1m firmware a while back with success? The only feature not available on the Alltel V9m thats on the Alltel Z6m is the lock keypad function (since its a slider and has a dedicated key for this). Makes me wonder if the V9m Cricket flash was ever actually shared for download, whether we could do the same thing. Shooting in the dark, but maybe the lock keypad option is seem modifiable. Won't know without trying, but its worked in the past if I remeraber correctly. Letstalk fixed that error, so the cheapest way now is to buy it on prepaid at $189.99 + $35.00 activation + $20.00 initial balance = $245.00.
 
This phone will be out for Cricket in early Noveraber. Why the hell would you want to buy an Alltell model and flash it when you can buy the Cricket version in a few weeks? :befuddled
 
Unfortunately, I don't know of each and every upcoming phone that will be coming out. Had I known, I wouldn't have brought it up. Good to hear they will be picking it up though.
 
the same reason to buy a pre-paid v3m from verizon inpulse and flash it to cricket.. it's over $100 cheaper that what cricket charges for it.
 
Good deal, but since that does no good to most of us, we'll either have to tweak the Alltel image or wait for someone to get the monster after its out. I'm working on doing one right now, shouldn't be to different from the other zillion Motorolas. Will report back if there are any funky occurrences.
