I have Alltell and am getting new phones. I am looking for reception first and then ease of downloding pics to my computer. Durability is third. I am comparing the Razor with the E815 Any and all thoughts appericated...Mike

If reception is your first concern, definitely the E815. It's a little bigger, bulkier, and not as big of an eye-catcher, but it's the king of reception. The Razr is a little behind, but still not a bad option for reception, just not quite up to the E815.

I will also say it's very easy to get pics onto your computer with both models. Unlike some other carriers, alltel still allows you to send pic messages to any e-mail address that supports the feature. I've never had a problem with my yahoo account. If I did not have text messaging, it's also done very easily with the MPT software for Moto phones. If you don't have it, or know somebody with it, you can get the software and data cable on eBay for somewhere in the neighborhood of $10.

I would also give the durability edge to the E815, but I don't think either is bad. But I do know mine has smacked the pavement more than a few times, but it's still working fine. The extra size gives it added durability. Also, if you really need protection and durability, you may want to think about the leather cover case, sold by Motorola for about $25, but it's really hard to find an authentic one on eBay. It really adds some padding to it and it remains over the phone at all times. However, several of my friends have Razrs and they've never had any durability problems with the Razr either.
