Allergy-induced asthma

What can trigger allergy-induced asthma? I know that I am already very sensitive to mold, but can other things trigger it? Like animals, for example? I've never been allergic to pets before, but I'm wonderign now. My asthma symptoms came back last week and I removed myself from what I thought was the mold area, and no luck - my symptoms are still here. I didn't start feeling this way until a few weeks after I moved back home (w/ 3 dogs and 3 cats); at my college apartment I had no pets. I don't know what else could be causing my asthma... can you get asthma symptoms from animals? I mean I don't have a runny nose or anything like that, normal allergies..
 
yes, pet dander can cause asthma..though in my daughter she goes for the allergy symptoms first and then asthma. She is also allergic to dust mites and some tree pollens, ragweed, etc..I'd suggest you figure out what you are allergic to and then remove yourself if at all possible from those triggers. Cigarrette smoke, mold, some fooRAB, etc..there are lots of things that can act as triggers. In my son's case he gets asthma when he has a sinus infection or a cold.
If you are sure it's because of allergies, start getting those under control..

I'm allergic to several types of mold, feathers, a lot of trees, grass, and dust. The pollen and dust probably set off my asthma the worst. As long as I avoid these things as much as possible (though when the pollen comes out in april, I'm readying myself for a really brutal few weeks ripe with asthma attacks), my asthma is much better.

Cold can also set my asthma off, as does exercise. I'd suggest, like the above poster did, that you find out what exactly you're allergic to/what sets off your asthma. You could be allergic to more than mold, or if you live in a cold area that could do it if cold is one of your triggers.
 
Triggers that my daughter has:

Cold air (winter) she can't be in the cold at all. Even with her nose and mouth covered)
Weather changes (cold to warm, warm to cold)
Dampness - outside
Smoke - we have no relationship with anyone who smokes
Stress - if she is really upset (it can trigger it although this has only happened hand full of times, we usually keep her quite calm)
Excerise - we have to montor her when she is being really active she starts to get wheezy, tight cough and she enRAB up having an attack.


She was positive for milk protein allergies, but since been negative after retest.

Also she is not allergic to animals, cats, dogs, she never coughs around them or anything.

If we go camping, and she is out in the dampness, night time she gets very bad. So avoid that.

There are some of the triggers she has. We are quite careful with her.
