Allergy felt in lungs?

Does anyone else get one basic allergic reaction-- in your lungs? Most of the time, it seems like when my body objects to something I get an irritation in my lungs (chest area). It just feels a little and tight and irritated, but there's no shortness of breath or pain.

If you do get this, what do you do to get rid of it? Mine tend to go on...
 
Have had an allergy test, which revealed allergies only to a few things that I don't eat. No airborne allergies. I have also had a lung function test. It was normal except for signs of what the doctor is guessing is some sort of inflammation. He said it could be early asthma/hyperresonsiveness, or it could simply be caused by an allergy to something.

This is one of those cases where there's a lot of guessing going on. That's why I was hoping someone else deals with this and would have some suggestions for what helps them. I was just wondering if anyone else gets this symptom-- slight tightness and chest irritation -- without really having others.
 
For allergy induced asthma - which it appears this is - one would avoid the offending allergens if possible and use a rescue inhaler - like normal asthmatics - if having an attack. You should report this situation to your pulmonologist and discuss possible protocols.
 
Doctor gave me Syrabicort. It works, but it usually takes a few days. I do not have any wheezing or shortness of breath, just that mild but annoying chest irritation. Has anyone with these symptoms found something that works better than syrabicort? I tried albuterol a few times, but it didn't do anything in the short term, and I gave up on it when he gave me Syrabicort.
 
Syrabicort is a daily med. You have to use it every day not just when having an attack. That may be your problem.
