Allergies

So today i woke up early and got to work at 8am. Had to open up and work outside in the lawn and garden section as a cashier at Lowe's. I was already not feeling good and sneezing all over the place. I go outside and things just get worse from there, i feel more sick and my head is pounding. I was there for about two hours and finally told them i needed to leave. I hated leaving cause they are always short handed cashiers and the fact that i am stationed outside everyday. I never did ask to be put out there nor did i sign up to be a lawn and garden cashier, but then decided to do it upon themselves. I told them i didn't mind the summer heat at all if they needed me to go outside in the summer since most complain about it. I did not however tell them that I would go out there in the middle of allergy season and work. I am not on insurance right now because I have not been there long enough, i have a few more weeks. I am not going to a doctor and paying over $100 for a doctors note stating I cannot be outside due to hay fever/allergies. One of the front end managers tried to tell me to go to the emergency room and get a note there that way I just have to pay payments on the visit, but damn that will be much more to pay.

Don't get me wrong, I like working there, pay is really good and when I finally get on insurance, that is good as well. But for right now, it sucks so much cause I am going home feeling sick every day. :sick2:

Yeah that does suck really bad. Most of my friends get spring allergies too but I only get them in the fall when the whole allergy thing isn't as bad.

Sorry to hear about it though, allergies do suck.

Thanks, I guess I am going to have to start taking Benadryl allergy and sinus Headache for sneezing, itchy watery eyes, runny nose, sinus congestion, sinus pain and pressure, and sinus headache cause that is what I have right now. I can't take anything with antihistamine during the day or work hours cause I won't be able to focus and I will be drowsy and who knows what else.

I agree with Jessie. Right now my fiancee and I are both dealing with allergies. His are far worse than mine, but a drippy nose isn't the most attractive or comfortable thing in the world. I take flonase and that works alright. But I agree that Benadryl is good to. The non-drowsy one works pretty decently. Good luck with your allergies. Hopefully since they know you're having problems they'll temporarily move you.

Me and my friend did shots of Benagryl when we were in 6th grade. We were knocked the fuck out, for what was the best sleep I've ever experienced.

I'm sorry about the allergies. I'm allergic to dirt ass weed, which is in full bloom now.

I know how it feels, in fact I have to feel it every day I forget to take my nasal shot of Budesonide. And I have to take it every day(whole fucking year). On my skin testing, I was positive for dust mites, dog/cat/rabbit fur and hay allergies.
But most of the time I'm not feeling sick, I just sneeze, get diabolic red eyes and for some reason people think I'm on drugs.
If this is your first allergic year, I say welcome to the club, hope you don't stay too long.

Nah, Claritin doesn't work for me. I use to get it when it wasn't over the counter it and sucked. The only meds i can take to help are anyting with antihistamine in it, and that stuff knocks you out.

I have had it for years since i was like 14. I never did understand that cause when i was a kid, i use to be an outside kid all the time. I use to stay outside every day all day long during these months and summer. When i turned 14, something just shot me in the ass and from then on i suffer badly.

Two words: FUCK ALLERGIES

What I do, is take flonase AND claritin in the morning. Then I take benedryl at night. And on days when I'm not near anything that makes me sneeze, I don't take any medication.

One thing you can do is take a short drive in the car for a few minutes with the air conditioning on. That always clears me up.

Sometimes a wet wash cloth over your nose helps too.

Basically any kind of cover/air filter will help you when you are sneezing from allergies.

Watery eyes are horrible. I guess sometimes you just gotta go to the bathroom and wash your face, because that kind of helps me.

And, maybe it's just me, but strangely enough, I find that when I'm cold, my allergies are much less severe. Maybe take a cold shower in the morning and dress cooly? Stay away from flowers and such too.
